Daily Dilbert Netvibes Module ScreenshotI’ve created my first Netvibes module! I was searching for a Dilbert module but couldn’t find one so had a go at making one myself. It’s turning out to be quite popular.

    Hi,

    Nice module, however, I am in the UK and it doesn’t seem to update with the latest comic until around mid morning. Any Ideas?

    Also, can you create one for Sherman’s Lagoon & Ripley’s believe it or not?

    Hi Martyn,

    The module uses an RSS feed from http://feeds.feedburner.com/tapestrydilbert, so it depends on when they update it. The Dilbert site doesn’t supply an RSS feed unfortunately, so I guess they must be screen scraping it. To make matters worse the tapestry feed seems to be down at the moment. Hopefully it hasn’t been shut down.

    The Sherman’s Lagoon site prevents hotlinking to the images, which makes getting it on netvibes tricky.  The un-official Ripley’s RSS feed is also unavailable due to the tapestry comics problem but I’ll give it a go if it comes back online.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply. Just so you know I can get Shermans and Dilbert comics into Netvibes using http://www.dapper.com and the Netvibe Webpage module. If you haven’t heard of it go there and search for the comics by title and you will see what I mean.

    I would have preferred to use a dedicated module like yours and the popular ‘Daily Comics’ module seems to be broken in the latest Cinnamon release.

    I think you meant to post http://www.dappit.com - but wow that’s useful, thanks. I have created a Sherman’s Lagoon module and sumitted it to netvibes and it’s awaiting approval. In the meantime you can add it manually by entering the address http://www.samoliver.com/sherman.html

    I have also updated the Dilbert module to use the Dappit feed - hopefully that will be more reliable!

    Dappit is simply amazing if you get into it. You can create just about anything from anything….. except Ripley’s believe it or not…. Grrr!

    Appreciate the work, RESPECT.

    Q: How can I make the window to show the full width of the dilbert daily - it seems 2B cropped, I can only C it be manipulating the frame, kinda awkward.
